Pineol®
Description
A French maritime pine bark extract, highly concentrated in OPCs.
Botanical origin
Latin name: Pinus pinaster Aiton, erroneously called "Pinus maritima"
Common names: pinaster pine, maritime pine
Properties
Pine bark is used because it is rich in OPCs (Oligomeric ProanthoCyanidins), a group of compounds belonging to the extensive polyphenol family. These oligomers provide numerous health benefits. The strong antioxidant effect of these molecules has been highly documented. The scientific literature shows that OPCs are able to:
- prevent chronic venous insufficiency (CVI),
- protect the cardiovascular system,
- increase capillary resistance by acting on the constituents of blood vessels,
-
reduce inflammation by inhibiting arthritis, edema and cutaneous reactions.

The abundance of health benefits reported in scientific literature results from the ability of OPCs to specifically attach to certain proteins (enzymes, membrane receptors, tissue proteins, etc.) and protect them or modulate their activity.
Pineol® is of guaranteed 100% plant origin and meets current standards concerning the absence of GMOs, allergens, pesticides, heavy metals and mycotoxins.
