Polynektars^®: plant origin cosmetics ingredients

Berkem has developed a new range of cosmetics active ingredients: Polynektars^®. Rich in polyphenols, these ingredients are plant-based and preservative-free. Their activities have been proved by several efficiency tests (in vivo, in vitro).
Currently, this range is made up of two ingredients: Fresh’ka^® and Origa’light^®.

The products

> Fresh’ka^®: plant ingredient obtained from strawberry plant leaves, rich in polyphenols in particular from the flavonoid family. It brightens the complexion, smoothes skin texture and gently lightens the skin.
This cosmetics ingredient has been developed for dull skins, anti-aging products and for oily skins with dilated pores.
The recommended percentage for formulation is 0.5%.

> Origa’light^®: plant ingredient obtained from oregano leaves, rich in polyphenols in particular from the hydroxycinnamic acid family. It has lightening and antioxidant properties, and a good photostability.
This cosmetics ingredient has been developed for lightening treatments, correction of pigmentary disorders and to combat aging spots.
The recommended percentage for formulation is from 0.1% to 0.5%.

Anti-aging actives: Berkemyol^®

Berkem has developed a line of active ingredients for cosmetics based on company know-how in the field of extraction. Our actives are the result of synergy between the quality of plants chosen and our expertise in plant extraction.

Berkemyol^® are actives with a high plant polyphenol content (95%).

Polyphenolic derivatives are of great interest for the cosmetics industry, in particular because of an antioxidant power that provides protection from free radical damage. They lead to younger-looking skin by inhibiting the oxidation of intra- and extracellular components: collagen, essential fatty acids, proteins and skin and membrane lipids.

Polyphenols are powerful natural antioxidants. They are found throughout the plant kingdom in vegetables, fruits, cereals and many other types of plants.

They have multiple biological properties and a potential for protecting health and preventing aging that is especially interesting. Properties include anti-free radical action, vascular protection, anti-inflammatory action and protection against microbes and mutations.
